Media Technologies used in the Research Stage:
- Research was largly internet based.
- Finding images/ files of similar media products.
- Search engines, such as 'Google.com', were used to find these similar media products.
- Once I had obtained these, simple image software, such as 'Paint' or 'Adobe Photoshop', were used to highlight sections of the products, which I could then use to present in an easy to follow way.
- Presentation website, 'Prezi.com', was used to present this research in an easy to follow way, making it easy to plan, as I look at specific sections of research easily.
Media Technologies used in the Planning Stage:
- Not much media technology was used in the planning stage, as this was mostly drafts drawn by hand.
- When planning the main product, the design software, 'Adobe InDesign', was used to show what the basic outline of main product would look like.
Media Technologies used in the Construction Stage:
- Lots of different media technologies were used in the construction stage.
- To create the individual adverts, and other graphic elements for the main product, I used the picture editing software, 'Adobe Photoshop'.
- By using 'Adobe Photoshop', I could create new graphic elements from scratch, or combine existing images with new drawn additions.
- When constructing the main product, I used the designing software, 'Adobe InDesign'. By using this, I could bring together the graphic elements, such as the adverts, with written text to produce the newspaper pages.
- To construct the first ancillary product (poster) I used the the image editing software, 'Adobe Photoshop'. By using this, I was able to construct the poster from scratch by using the tool provided by the software.
- To construct the second ancillary (webpages) I used the new website creating software 'Adobe Muse', which is still in its trial stage. Even though this software
was still in its trial stage, I chose to use it as it is very simple to use, but still produces professional looking products. - By using 'Adobe Muse', I could create webpages from scratch, as well as incorperating combining other elements of my project, such as text, images and adverts from the main product.
Media Technologies used in the Evaluation Stage:
- Not many Media Technologies were used in this stage.
- Most were presentation media technologies, such as 'Prezi.com' and 'Microsoft PowerPoint', to make the evaluations more visually entertaining and easier to follow.
- I also used the basic editing software, 'Windows Movie Maker'. I chose to use such basic video editing software as I did not feel it was necessary to use more complex editing software, to obtain the same results.
Throughout all stages of the project I used media technologies such as the 'Blogger' iPhone Application to update details on the blog, when the hardware at college let me down; Photo capturing iPhone Applications for ease of use and availablity; Audio recording iPhone Applications for the same reasons.
